Bio
Dave Hammaker has been capturing images of our natural environment with his camera for over 35 years. He received his formal training in photography in the Professional Photography program at the Rochester Institute of Technology and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University. He has attended seminars and workshops conducted by top nature and landscape photographers. Dave is a member of the North American Nature Photographers Association and subscribes to their code of ethics.

"My photographs capture the unique qualities of light interacting with both the representational and the abstract elements of our natural world. Many of my images were captured during the hours of "golden light" that occurs at sunrise and sunset. Other images were created from the unque qualities of reflected light. They all provide the viewer with a window into the majestic beauty of nature.

Each image that you see on this web site represents many days and sometimes weeks of field work. Many photographs are the result of multiple vists to the same site to catch just the right light. Most of the images were recorded with medium format film which gives the viewer an exceptional level of detail in each photograph. All of the photographs match the vision of the photographer when the image was made. Northing was added or subtracted from any of the images. Each unique photograph was created in the camera. "
