Johann Peter Hamacher was the father of the two brothers who came to America in 1740 and founded many of the present day Hamacher, Hamaker, Hammaker, Haymaker families that currently live in the United States and Canada. Johann Peter was born circa 1680 in Germany and died in February 1730 at Oberhattert, Germany. Oberhattert is a tiny village outside the city of Hachenburg, Germany.
