This map shows a portion of the Westerwald area of Germany. The Johann Peter Hamacher family lived near Hachenburg in the village of Oberhattert. Oberhattert is the northern section of the larger village Hattert. Church records for the family were found in the records of the Reformed Church located in Altstadt just outside the city of Hachenburg.
